Bullying at School


Bullying is one of the main reasons for suicides in schools and colleges. Most bullies do what they do for intimidation, power, and control. The victims question their actions to a point where they feel like they are at fault for what happens at the school or the area where they get bullied. Teachers, guidance counselors, and other authority figures don't do anything till the parent of the child, or the child is in serious pain with emotional or physical pain. Authority is kept at hold till some aspect goes wrong.
             How to profile a bully is a crucial role of counselors in schools, and if counselors don't figure out the cause for the bullying, it is the teacher's role to identify and prevent the bullying from taking place. Profiling a bully is a difficult task if you don't know what you are looking for. Bullies can have many reasons for why they do what they do. Some of the come reasons include insecurities, power trip, and social skills. Insecurities build over time. As bullies grow out of their adolescent years, they either have good social skills or they don't have good social skills. In these circumstances the bully will pick on the kids who are the least likely to respond to the bully. A power trip is when a bully is just trying to fit in, so he or she will tease or make fun of another kid till he or she gets where they are going. Once they reach their goal, they stop and move on. Social skills are the bases of making good friends, but when an individual lacks that quality, they struggle to mix with people. The frustration becomes internal, and this individual will express the emotions externally on another person, or channelize his emotions in a physical way to gain attention of people who he wishes to gain attention of. Sometimes they are other reasons why a bully bullies. These reasons are not your common reasons.
             Some bullies go through struggles that are not common to the rest of the population.
