The Music of My Life

This was where I really defined the music I enjoyed. That was music from artists who were authentic. They sang or rapped about their lives and things they've done and to me that's what really makes or breaks an artist. I like to do research on music and find people like this to listen to. When people make music that is real, talking about real struggles and real events that have happened it makes that song mean something. Those artists aren't just trying to make a lot of money, but are telling things how they really are. That is a huge part of why I enjoy the music that I do. .
             On top of the artists I listen to being authentic, I also enjoy music that is relatable to my life. When I listen to country music I get a feeling of nostalgia from when I used to live in a farm. I like being able to understand and picture the scenes in my head from country music. Hearing about tractors or living out on a farm or about trucks, it all brings back memories. The rap music in a sense is not as relatable, though I still enjoy many other qualities of it. The bass and computer generated sounds are unique to this type of music. Another style of music I have recently started to listen to is Wiz Khalifa type music. His style of music doesn't fall under any one category of music, he has his own style of music that he makes. One reason I like him is because his music is relatable. I do smoke marijuana from time to time and his music is mainly about this topic. His music is great to listen and relax to. He uses soft slower melodies and the particular sound of Wiz is very appealing. His music is also authentic since most of his songs comes from how he lives. .
             I don't listen to many different types of music. Like at all. Out of the few genres I like, I like even fewer artists out of that genre. This is because the songs I do like have similar qualities that usually don't come together in music. The majority of the music I like have similar qualities.
