Also some peoples career end in college and some people are okay with that and see it has a good experiences that they got to be apart of. Some sports like Football and Basketball some athletes are paid for. "First, only football and men's basketball are money-making college sports" (Should) With this statement out why aren't other sports getting money for their sport that they are in? Why is this the only sport? The reason I found was that other sports don't attract big crowds of people or bring in money from concessions or merchandise. With all the publicity around these sports you should see that some should make something. .
"Still, it's not surprising that the football and basketball players may want to be paid. After all, they are just following the example set by their coaches and colleges in these big-money sports." (Should) I see the argument that they are saying. But they are focusing on two sports. How is that equal to the rest of the clubs? Don't they put in the same amount of effort? These are all questions that I haven't found. As Adrian Peterson said, "Nobody wants to live in the dorms for four years. You see the guys who are older, and they have responsibilities. I feel like, as much money as universities make, some of that should come down to the players, as well." (Qtd in Goessling) I see this as a true statement, on behalf of the upper classmen. When you're in college you are getting ready to start your life and you are stuck in the dorms because you don't have enough money to get out. .
Every year the Mens NCAA basketball tournaments or "March Madness" as many fans call it, rakes in billions of dollars. This basketball tournament alone brings out a bigger fan base for college basketball than the NBA does for its tournaments. At the end of this tournament one team is crowned the winner and gets the bragging rights of being the best in the league.
