              Syed Ahmad Barelvi a Muslim nationalist received desperate pleas of help from the persecuted Muslims of the Punjab region. The Muslims were prohibited to callAzan and lands belonging to the waqf endowments which provided financial support to Muslim institutions were confiscated by the Sikhs. Syed Ahmad Barelvi in 1821 with many supporters and spent two years organizing popular and material support for his Punjab campaign. He carefully developed a network of people through the length and breadth of India to collect funds and encourage volunteers, traveling widely throughout India attracting a following among pious Muslims. In December 1826 Sayyid Ahmad and his followers clashed with Sikh troops at Okara but with no decisive result. In a major battle near the town of Balakot in 1831, Sayyid Ahmad and Shah Ismail Shaheed with volunteer Muslims were defeated and martyred by the professional Sikh Army.
             The most closest colleague of syed ahmed, Moulavi Mohammed Panipathi went to the tribal areas and along with their leader Syed Akbar worked together. .
             The First Anglo-Sikh War broke out as a result of the Sikh Empire of the Punjab falling into disorder after the death of the Maharajah Ranjit Singh in 1839, and British desire to secure the Punjab. The Sikh army, the Khalsa, was goaded by some of the contenders for power in the Punjab and its own ambitions for plunder and glory into crossing the Sutlej River into British territory.
             But still the Jehad went on in full swing. Mohammed Enayet Ali and Bilayet Ali were the main leaders, who died at that time. After them their brother, Yahya Ali started leading the movement, Moulavi Farhad Ali and Ahmudullah helped him in conducting this revolution. They used to distribute different types of books and leaflets. To stay in safe protection they made a house in Sadekpur of Patna. They had different stations to send men and soldiers from the borders to patna.
