Business Investors in China

The blackout also brought the world's attention to India's power situation again. Due to the power outage many factories were forced to cut down their production; seeing that power is the life-blood of production. Without a stable power supply the factories cannot produce consistently; this, in turn, decreases the productivity rate of those factories. These electricity outages may deter foreign manufactures from using the country as an export base. Vietnam's power situation is very different than other countries. Not only is Vietnam a country without enough power plants to support the country's electricity level, but also hydropower contributes over 35 percent of Vietnam's overall power supply. So when it is the dry season of the year blackouts begin to happen more frequently in Vietnam."Would make it very difficult for me to explain to the board that we want to stay here and want to develop the company here (Vietnam)." -Boy Schallert, Managing Director of Aalborg Industries A/S. (Bloomberg).
The international unit to measure a country's power supply level is by using kilowatts per hour (KWh) per capita. According to world bank's data in 2012, China's KWh Per Capita is 2,944, whereas Vietnam's is 1,013, India's is 616 and the Philippines is 643.With those number we can see that China has a much more consistent power supply level than all three of those countries.  This would lead one to believe that China has a much better and more solid infrastructure than India, Vietnam, and the Philippines. This might be a huge factor as to why foreign investors picked China in the first place, and the reason that will keep investors maintain in China in the future.
Another key reason why investors will remain in China is the Chinese government structure. The biggest difference between China and those other three countries in government structure is that China is a Communist country while those other countries are democratic countries.
