Friendship in Epic of Gilgamesh

At this moment, both friends initiated an itinerary in the search of fame and glory. .
This two legendary characters have very similar qualities, they abound since Enkidu was created specifically as a balance of Gilgamesh. They are mirrors of each other. Some of these similarities may include: Incredible strength, both of them have very strong descriptions in the book. Gilgamesh is described as "surpassing all kings, powerful and tall beyond all others, violent, splendid, a wild bull of a man", whereas Enkidu is described by the first person who saw him as "the strongest man in the world, with muscles like rock. I have seen him outrun the swiftest animals." They both performed actions that no other man could, like very long journeys that took them only a day. In addition, both of them fight for what they believe in. When they first met, Enkidu stands up to Gilgamesh's practice of taking each bride at their wedding night. When Gilgamesh won that fight, they became equal and together, they fought Humbaba and the Bull of Heaven, proving their strength and courage. Moreover, Gilgamesh and Enkidu showed mutual love, this masculine love, in my opinion, revealed the origins of male relationships in the Mesopotamian culture. Gilgamesh often described Enkidu as if it was a marriage and a relationship between a husband and a wife more than two friends. .
On the other hand, as they are mirrors to each other, there are obvious differences that actually complemented with each other. Enkidu was created to balance Gilgamesh's tyranny and attitudes as a bad ruler, so their personalities contrasted a lot. This was actually productive for both since the relationship motivated both to change in a good way: Enkidu changed from a wild man into a noble because of Gilgamesh, and the king of Uruk, changed from a tyrannical ruler who raped his women into an exemplary king and hero who could actually connect with his people's need.
