All of these disorders are something that is wrong with ones brain, not just symptoms someone started having one day. Anxiety and depression are the start to many other problems if not learned to be taken care of. For instance, research shows that anxiety and depression could lead to antisocial behavior and outrage, which can make some act very drastic or leave them emotionally unstable. Mental disorders are the start to many problems that juveniles develop as time goes on, igniting their life of crime. However, around the nation there are about 50 programs that have been created in order to help these offenders who suffer from a mental disorder. Whether these programs are beneficial, promising or need work, they all aim for the goal of helping the offender stray away from a life of crime. Not only to they focus on controlling crime, but most importantly they try to change and enhance the individual by promoting positive lifestyle changes that will lead to a more opportune outlook on life. The basic principles are to cater to the youth and make sure to get to the bottom of their problems and offer correctional methods to rehabilitate the individual back into a changed lifestyle .
In todays world we heavily rely on the youth because they are the leading examples for future generations to come. We look upon them to make the world a better place and progress as those before us have. However, it may be hard to see with all of the messed up people and kids in the world today. The United States population is approximately 319 million people, and of that number 40 million makes up our teenage population; which equals about 14%. Those 40 million kids will one day be in charge of our country and teach those that come after us. The nation needs to put our youth in the best possible spot for success and take care of some of the problems that may exist. The adolescent population represents the age gap between 10 and 19 years which has decreasing crime rates over the last century.
