The United States promised to provide energy assistance, and to improve their relationship as two countries. A deal has to serve a nation's interest. Resources and the promise of peace are considered beneficial for any country that wants to survive in the modern world, where benevolent interaction among each nation is imperative. North Korea was not an exception to this rule, and agreed to stop producing nuclear weapons. However, North Korea was found cheating on this deal in 2004. They had continued to construct nuclear weapons, even while they were receiving resources from the United States. From this incident, it can be learned that making a deal with threatening nations is hard and keeping the deal with such countries is even harder. Agreements such as these require constant attention. The article concludes by saying that the United States has been encountering a similar situation with Iran, and the Obama administration had better learn some tips from the case with North Korea to be successful at closing their deal with Iran. .
As noted in the introduction of this paper, the main idea of Ibn Khaldun is that no human can live without the help of fellow beings. And, according to Khaldun, civilization is something essential for humans' life (Khaldun, p. 202). The definition of civilization ranges from a little village in a countryside to a flourishing city with advanced technology and an economic system. Any communities, where interaction and cooperation among people take place, are civilizations in Khaldun's eyes. In the Muqaddimah, food and defense are introduced as the two of humans' fundamental need for life (Khaldun, p. 201). Humans have to have access to food, which energizes them. According to Khaldun, there are many ways of obtaining food: cropping, cutting plants, hunting animals, cooking foodstuffs, and so on (Khaldun, p. 201). Moreover, some crafts were invented in order to enable hunting and farming.
