Themes of Fahrenheit 451 and Animal Farm

Captain Beatty wants to arrest Guy, so Guy burns Beatty to death with a flamethrower. Montag then had to go on the run from the police. While running from the police he finds some men along the railroad track that have memorized books, so they can "read" them to people. In Fahrenheit 451, Guy's struggle between knowing what he has been told by the government and what he ultimately learns to be true, exposes the issue that exists with an overreaching, powerful government.
In Animal Farm and Fahrenheit 451, there were two different types of characters: characters that represent government leaders and some characters that represent regular members of society. In Orwell's Animal Farm, Jones is depicted as an abusive leader. He did not feed the animals well, he whips them when they do not do something right, and he pays little attention to them. Major is an old boar that inspires the animals' dream of rebellion against humans. Once the rebellion occurs, three animals emerge as leaders. One of those leaders is a boar named Snowball. He establishes the idea of building a windmill. Another leader is a boar named Napoleon. He believes that the young animals needed to learn their ABC's and how to read and write. The last leader is a pig named Squealer. He and his fellow pigs are the brains of the farm, but that also makes them sneaky and mischievous. Napoleon and Squealer overthrow Snowball as the head leader of the farm. In Bradbury's Fahrenheit 451, Guy Montag is the main character. He is a fireman who burns books. He has a change of heart and starts secretly saving books. He has a wife named Mildred. Mildred spends her time watching "the family" in the parlor. She has an overdose on sleep pills one night when Guy gets home from meeting Clarisse, an unusual young girl who lives down the street from Guy. Clarisse looks at many things in society differently than Guy. She unintentionally influences Guy to change his mind about his job.
