The Four Pillars of Education


            Education has always been the one of the most important things that defines a well developed country. it served as the foundation for the development of it's people's skills and talents that is essential especially in the growth of a nation. It is also one of the most important things that the people of a certain society should acquire for better functionality. Because of education, people can have their value to their society and are able to contribute through their specific skills.
             In education, to develop one's potentials, the learner must be able to deal with the four pillars of education: learning to know, learning to do, learning to live together and learning to be. In learning to know, students should be able to gain know learning things. This first pillar of education is where the learner will learn to develop his cognitive skills for him to acquire knowledge about things. This knowledge that the student will acquire will be his foundations in the future to come when the learner will have to use this knowledge in contribution to society. The students in this crucial times should be guided thoroughly by well trained and experienced educators. They should be facilitated at most times for their development to be ensured.
             The second pillar of education, learning to do implies the second stage in which the learners are trained to apply all the knowledge they had learned in the past to real life situations. They should be closely facilitated as the student demonstrates his skills for proper execution. They should also be taught how to be productive while living harmoniously with others. Along their development with their practical skills, they should be taught to develop also of competence, life skills, personal qualities, aptitudes and attitudes. These simple characteristics are also important especially when the learner is starting to enter society. These traits will help him be innovative as he experience real life situations that will require decision-making, socializing with others and finding jobs.
