Issues of Welfare Reform

This is why many Americans do not go out and obtain jobs. They know the cut offs for food stamps and other welfare forms of assistance so they game the system. "Gaming the system" is another term used for bending the rules or abusing the system. The government needs to create some reform and change the rules on how an individual can receive benefits. They should have to obtain a job unless they have a disability or other that prevents them from being able to work. If people work for their money instead of getting it free, they would appreciate it more and spend it more wisely. It could benefit the welfare system, and even go as far as benefiting individual communities throughout America. .
Working Tax Credit would be a beneficial asset to people of the working class still receiving low income. According to the article in Community Living, Working Tax Credit (WTC) is income-based and is the main state benefit for people who are working full-time. The client can get WTC if they (or a partner, where applicable) are working enough hours per week and their income is low enough (Community Living). This helps those with disabilities that can only work certain jobs and certain hours because they are incapable. Like stated above, if a disability prevents them from working full-time, they still have options such as WTC. Obtaining a job because of a disability is not impossible. .
Welfare is a program created to help American citizens who are in temporary need of financial assistance. If they are an American citizen it is perfectly acceptable to receive help from fellow American working class. However, Census Bureau data reveals that most U.S. families headed by illegal immigrants use taxpayer-funded welfare programs on behalf of their American-born anchor babies (Judicial Watch). It is often heard that people come to America illegally and have children so they have a better reason to stay and not be deported.
