How did trains and railroads change life in America?.
Trains changed America in probably a lot more ways than you could think of. The introduction of trains helped the expansion of people settling in the west. Before the train, many people made long journeys by using a horseback and wagons pulled by horses. With trains, however, people were able to travel to the west in a matter of hours instead of days, weeks, or months as they used to before trains were made. Trains also allowed things like meat and other fresh products to be delivered across the country, whereas before the meats and other fresh products would spoil before it could make the trip. This helped to increase new trade in other parts of the country because the trading was faster and easier for the items and goods to get to their destination. Another key thing that the trains and railroads changed lives in America was it helped the economy grow because the products being imported were getting to their destination on time and in great amount of quantities instead of importing small amount of products by wagons and horses which was far more dangerous and unsuccessful. After the Transcontinental Railroad was built, many more workers decided to build more trains and railroads to gain more expansion to the West and to explore what is further out there for them. .
What was the women's suffrage movement and how did it change America?.
The women's suffrage movement was the struggle for the right of women to vote and run for office and is part of the women's rights movement. In the mid-19th century, women in several countries formed organizations to fight for suffrage. In 1888, the first international women's rights organization formed, the International Council of Women (ICW). Because the ICW was refusing to focus on suffrage, in 1904 the International Woman Suffrage Alliance (IWSA) was formed by British women's rights activist Millicent Fawcett, American activist Carrie Chapman Catt, and other women's rights activists.
