Some people do give thanks throughout the year but at thanksgiving people are more inclined to because they have family all around. Advertisements increase a contemporary scene, which is described as "joyless economy" or "paradox of affluence" (Gender 251). .
In past generations, the cutoff age for normal puberty was at the age of 8 (Deardorff). When going through puberty, they estimate that girls start developing at the age of 8. When starting "normal puberty," girls have chemicals in their bodies that reciprocate hormones. So they are called "hormone mimickers"(Deardorff). These hormone mimickers reciprocate estrogen when girls start going through puberty. Is this a reason why kids nowadays are getting older younger? What about younger boys? Do they have a similar reaction when going through puberty? Deardorff says that there is some "evidence" that shows boys starting puberty early. But this so-called "evidence" isn't definitive. There also is reason that the antibiotics in our food create this early stage of puberty among young children. There is no definitive answer as to why children nowadays are going through puberty early but it does have an impact on how they behave and how they act much older for their ages. .
In the Journal of Pediatrics, there is an article published on how boys specifically are hitting puberty much earlier than in previous generations. So is this the conclusive evidence we need to show that this aids in how boys think, act, and talk? Maybe this is the answer. The relativity of puberty with behavior is very positive. "It could be biological, genetic, or environmental" (Guardian). This increases their thought process of being mature for their age. They put up a front and act and behave much older than they should be. In a recent study conducted by Deardorff, Gonzales, Christopher, Roosa, and Millsap, 666 females were brought to fill out a questionnaire that asked "menarche, sexual initiation, first alcohol, and age at first pregnancy" (Early Puberty).
