For example, a father who is eager to have a daughter but unexpectedly has a son will unconsciously treat the son as a daughter (Nicolosi). Also, it is possible to motivate a child to be a homosexual person if he is raised in a family without a masculine example. All the education he received is given by his mother, sisters or aunts, which may cause him a tendency toward feminization. It's the same situation with the girls in a family without a feminizing atmosphere (Nicolosi). He also notes: "Findings on women who marry homosexually were less pronounced, but were still associated with a childhood marked by a broken family. The rates of same-sex marriage were elevated among women who experienced maternal death during adolescence, women with short duration of parental marriage, and women with long duration of mother-absent cohabitation with father. Men and women with 'unknown fathers' were significantly less likely to marry a person of the opposite sex than were their peers with known fathers" (Nicolosi). Children who are experiencing parental divorce are more likely to become homosexual people. They see how a male and a female's love broke in their own eyes, which makes them to not believe in heterosexuality anymore especially when it happens to their own fathers and mothers.
Another factor is sexual assault. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, eighty-seven percent of boys and sixty-seven percent of girls who ask them for help are sexually assaulted before the age of twelve, and this is a possible result of teenage homosexuality (Centers for Disease Control and Prevention). For girls, if they are assaulted by their close relatives such as uncles, male friends, neighbors, who are supposed to protect the girls instead of insulting them, the girls may have a huge mental block for trusting males. They may always feel a sense of insecurity among guys and they do not treat males as partners to show love anymore, which may cause homosexuality.
