Criminals and the Death Penalty

To end these blood feuds, some societies made prohibitions for citizens to follow. In the Code of Hammurabi is "were the first ever proscriptions against murder and occurrence of the phrase an eye for an eye, a tooth for a tooth," which designated that if a man murdered another man, he should also die. Another solution that city-states developed – that would not only satisfy the relatives of the murder victim, but also make justice – was the invention of the death penalty, which brought the end of blood feuds and a new way to punish murderers in a legal way (Bowman, and DiLascio). .
Many people say that it would be better to incarcerate murders to be than just killed. But what people do not know is that some murderers live in prisons with "air-conditioner, TVs, and free meals, as if they were in resorts or country clubs," instead of receiving their punishment (Worth). Whenever a murderer does not receives the proper punishment, he will never see what he did was wrong, and will continue doing it. That means incarceration is not a reasonable method to punish murderers, because it does not return the pain that they have caused to their victims. However the death penalty is the only method that guarantees that the murderer will receive its proper punishment. The "ultimate crime deserves the ultimate punishment," which states that the most outrageous crimes have to be punish with the most outrageous punishment (Bowman, and DiLascio). .
The Bible also plays a big role in the death penalty because it requires the death penalty for a variety of crimes. In the book of Genesis says that: "Whoever sheds man's blood, by man shall his blood be shed, for in the image of God He made man"(9:6). This passage means that killing a human being is a big offence against God, because we are made in his image, and also requires murder to be executed. Also the Bible says that: kidnapping, being a false prophet, adultery, and other several crimes should be punished with the death penalty.
