The Difference Between Egyption and Sumerian Gods

The Sumerians and Egyptians both had their own different gods. Each had their own sort of religion. Both had their differences and both have their similar ways. The gods are higher beings, which human beings need as a support for the cause of life.
The city-states of the Sumerians each had a patron God that was worshipped to protect the city. Most of Egypt had one common God, the sun God Amon-Re. The Sumerians also believed that the sun god was the main god. But aside from the main gods, there were many other gods.
Sumerian polytheism had gods embodied in the forces of nature. There were river gods and sky gods. The Egyptians" polytheistic religion had land and more than one sun god. Among the many Egyptian gods was Osiris, the god of the Nile and the realm of the dead, along with Isis, the moon goddess and mother of the universe. .
The Egyptians believed in an afterlife, that it was more then just death. The mummified bodies so that the soul had a place to live after death. The Sumerians believed that the human role was that to serve and please the gods and that people were made to do the labor that the gods did not want to do. The Egyptians honored the gods as the form of a half-animal half-human sort. The Sumerians thought otherwise.
It cannot be said who has the truer religion. The gods may be half-animal or maybe the role of humans really is that of servants. The Sumerian and Egyptian religions are there because they want to believe such is true. Even if they are very different, or very much alike, it is the person that chooses what he or she wishes to believe in. .
