People always say that a man's necessities can be satisfied but never the greed. But how strong can greed really mean to him? When the protagonist discovers that the black hole could satisfy all of his wants, he becomes fearless. All of a sudden, the carefulness and concerns from before diminishes as he is driven by greed. The short film "The Black Hole" starts with the sound of a duplicating photocopier. The main protagonist's sighing sound, the sound of him kicking the photocopier, the irritated emotions on his face and the overall dull grey and black scale of the film all contributes to the frustrated and impatience's feelings of this short film. As the camera tracks toward the man, the overall costumes, makeup and hairstyle suits an average male between 25-35 years of age very well. Specifically, his business office attire of a worn out and messy white shirt, tie, black trouser and leather shoes all reminds the audience a typical working individual doing his daily work routine. Also, the added props of a photocopier and working desks makes this film seems contemporary and believable. .
The director uses diegetic light source, specifically, high key lighting to show the audience the time of this film as it sets at 3 AM in the morning. As we can observe, there was constant use of top lights and frontal light to create the natural lighting that every office have. Also, the use of grey and black and the lack of vibrant colors in the film constantly reminds the audience the grumpy mood of the character as he seems lonely and isolated. In shot # 38, when the protagonist enters his boss's office, the filmmaker uses low-key lighting as it creates very strong dark shadows. For this reason, the light blinks 4 times as foreshadowing for the audience to know that something evil is going to happen. .
