As a critical thinker, Alessandro Volta was responsible in his new discoveries and experiments. Being an emerging inventor, he thoroughly studied the newest and oldest discoveries for the goal of educating himself as well as being honest of what he had discovered and what already had been discovered. An example of this is recorded when he read Joseph Priestley's 1767 review of scientific research on electricity. After this he discovered that many of his ideas had already been discovered and he set forth to contemplate new theories. As an essential thinker, Volta was also able to connect and compare his technological ideas with those of others. This was demonstrated when he discussed and recorded his ideas in a dissertation called On the Attractive Force of the Electric Fire, and on the Phenomena Dependent On It, where he displayed his findings of electrical attraction and repulsion and compared these with gravity and static electricity that involved action at a distance. Alessandro Volta's ideas and discoveries were essential in the base of progressive discoveries involving electrical conduction technology of the future.
Alessandro Volta was not only recognized for his essential ideas and inventions, but for his effective communications in the means of his own society. Volta saw the education system as a successful route to distribute his findings and ideas. He wanted to use this pathway the most effective way possible, so he took the major step to modernize the faulted system. Firstly, he initiated his ideas for an improved system by overseeing and analyzing the schools in his home village Como. He then pushed learning to shape more closely around language and sciences. With this being in place, Volta began his spreading of ideas by becoming an experimental physics professor in Como's public school until 1778 when he would began his education at more experienced levels. Volta was also proactive in his times to not only read the other works of emerging scientists, but communicate as well.
