Generation Y is Self-Depressed

In today's generation, there are number of factors that can make us feel negatively about ourselves which can lead to self-depression and one of those is diet. Many Millennials eat at a fast food restaurant instead of cooking at home, meaning that they are generally low in vitamins and minerals intake. Lack of eating healthy foods can definitely change a person's thinking. We can start by eating better food, have some fruits as snacks instead of a large fries, or a healthy smoothie instead of a large coke, meat and high in fiber meals. If every single person's physical health in this generation is healthy and happy, it's much better for one's own mind and body to become healthier. Not only dieting but also exercise is a must. Exercise helps the oxygen in our blood circulate in our body more easily which helps us think and sleep better which can help prevent self-depression and encourage good grades.
A lack of self-acceptance can also lead to self-depression. It is important for everyone to accept his or her own self but many Millennials are simply lonely and isolated. It is common in our generation to become insecure about ourselves. It is often the cause of risking our own health. "Few people can reach the goal of a perfect life, so more are anxious and depressed." (Twenge-133) Which is truly accurate about our generation. Today's society puts up images in order to keep our generation catching up with the recent trends. Images such as skinny, fit models, brand new clothes and brands, latest fashion that we are constantly fed up with, tempting us to completely become a new person. However, only several people are able to keep up, and the rest are still in the hopes of being able to fit in. We tend lose weight to look good or impress others, mostly by working out and eating healthy but few people does the opposite, which is not consuming enough healthy foods, not realizing that it can extremely affect how our brain and body functions.
