Christian Mission in Zones of Violent Conflict


"The current armed conflict can be traced to a period called, 'la violencia,' a civil war between the two ruling parties, Liberal and Conservative. Noticing Images is used in the passage to depict the willingness of the volunteers to subject themselves to the exact treatment the locals must endure. This can lead to widespread attention of the conflicts, when aid workers start becoming victims of violence.
             A very important stance is taken to not completely condemn the use of force when appropriate. "The focus is not on whether use of force is an appropriate or ethical response to acts of injustice, which is addressed by just-war theory, but on how to help societies devastated by war or unjust regimes to heal and to build a just social order, without resorting to further violence," (p.
