In consideration of the facts that youngsters nowadays are holding an increasingly open attitude towards sex and that sex-related crimes are on the rise, our school is going to hold a 'Sex Education Campaign' to equip students with better knowledge of sex, and to inculcate correct messages as to sex into their minds. As the President of the Students' Union, I do have a role to play in this activity, and some constructive propositions of activities are put forth in the following.
Inviting Experts to Give a Talk.
Nowadays, a multitude of parents and teachers deem sex education a taboo given their conservativeness. Such a norm indeed gives rise to the lack of correct sex knowledge of students. In the light of this, it is suggested that the school invite some professionals who have professional expertise in sex education, such as professionally trained personnel, social workers, and doctors, to come and give a talk on how seriously students should treat sex. To make the activity more effective, it would be a good idea for parents and teachers to attend as well. By so doing, all parties concerned could gain an in-depth understanding of different aspects of sex, ranging from sexual decision-making, venereal diseases, to contraception methods.
Holding a Video-Clip Making Competition.
We can take advantage of the skyrocketing advancement of science and technology in eradicating the evil as well: a video-clip making competition would be an excellent idea. There could be a large variety of topics, prime examples like the compensated dating, celebrities' sex photo scandals, and teen models, all of which are issues of contention in recent years. They are required to make reflections on what messages are brought out from the video. In the course of making the video, they need to do research into the causes and influences of a particular issue, and carry out interviews with people like the victims of compensated dating, during which they can investigate the issues in exhaustive detail.
