He goes back home and talks to Meryl where they have several conflicts and rough conversations. Meryl becomes nervous and calls out for help by saying "do something." Truman gets shocked and starts shouting and questioning her, but Truman's best friend Marlon interrupts as a way to save Meryl. .
At this point Truman figures out that something is wrong in his life and is the climax of the movie. Truman outsmarts Christophe and the cameras and he escapes. At this point, the story changes direction completely, the whole town turns like a concentration camp and everyone is out searching for Truman. Moreover everyone in the world freaks out because it is the first time ever the TV show has stopped. During his escape there is a complete reversal of character, we observe that everyone becomes mean to him and the cast members are now showing their real character.
Christophe finds Truman sailing in the ocean to run away from the town, however Christophe tries to stop him by creating a storm but Truman is strong and manages to reach the end. He crashes through the studio and realizes he was living in it his whole life. He goes and touches the wall; it is this moment that separates illusion that he had been living in from reality. Christophe talks to him and tries to convince him to stay by telling him that he knows what is best for him and the outside world is not perfect. Truman however defies Christophe and choses to exit the town and face reality.
In this movie, the relationship between Christophe and Truman is that of Father to son. Christophe is in control of Truman's life decisions, such as his career, job, friends and his wife. All parents want what is best for their child and so does Christophe wants for Truman, however the borders of his small town restrict him. We learn about Truman that he is a person who follows a life routine for a long time, however he is a dynamic character.
