In this day and age as a society we face a lot of criminal behavior and activity. It's scary to think that even in our schools today; parents, family members, society as a whole has to contemplate whether or not their child will be safe in a learning environment. Schools should be the safest place for kids to go and develop their learning abilities. However, the feeling of protection has become more of a concern then how well the kids are learning, ever since the Sandy Hook incident. Where twenty six people in an elementary school were murdered, twenty of the victims were kids and the other six were faculty. Since the Sandy Hook shooting; it is said in the article "Does American Really Need More Cops in Schools" "The Obama administration wants stiffer gun control, and $150 million to help schools hire up to 1,000 more on-campus police or counselors, or purchase security technology. Not only will the school to prison pipeline be in effect but that there being no significant evidence to date stating that armed police officers improve school safety.
