Using one or more examples, please describe a challenge at school, work or in your personal life that you have had to overcome. How did you resolve the situation? How has this experience affected who you are today and the way you see the world? After finishing high school people, who want to go further on their life, reach goals they put, I faced with a university choice problem. I used to live with my family in Dnipropetrovsk – this is pretty big city at the Central Ukraine. Being on the last year of my lyceum, where I used to get for 1.5 hours from my home, I started to think about my major for future life and a university. Choice has fallen to the system analysis: due to my analytical skills, participating in regional steps of math and programming competitions. So afterwards it was needed to choose my future university.
I was considering two options: either to stay in my hometown or go to the Kiev and enter Kyiv Polytechnic University (KPI). My parents are used to live and work in Dnipropetrovsk and they are not fans of going out anywhere and travel, they didn't support an idea to go to the capital as actually first do I. I started to think about advantages and disadvantages of both cases. .
First one seems to me such good that I will be here with all my friends, be with parents and get education, but quality of the university isn't so well as in KPI. It is considered that Kyiv Polytechnic University is the best Ukrainian technical institution and they have separated faculty of my major I want to take as well as the amazing campus, liberty of students' self-government. For me it was about to start new life, be independent from parents, study in the best university, live at the capital and have a lot of career opportunities. From the other side something was drawing me to be at Dnipropetrovsk, this is family and friends. Even though I applied to the KPI and two others in Kyiv, afterwards I decided to stay.
