In retrospect, the World Wide Web or simply, web appears to be a new entire universe, just in the form of bytes of data. Being both vast entities, if the universe holds innumerable planets, the web comprises of billions of websites. In fact, over six million of websites are registered every day. Just like how each celestial body in our universe are unique of its own characteristics, websites are of different kinds too. The easiest examples would be social networking sites such as Facebook, followed by search engines like Google, and then news sites like Yahoo! News. By accessing such sites, information is exchanged through different networks and computers. And it happens every single day for the internet has existed for two decades already. The possibilities of varied ways to communicate and share information are endless.
While information is processed through codes in websites, information is disseminated through materials such as newspapers and magazines in the case of tangible reality. But publications have considered the internet, as the staple of the 21st century, for their targetaudience. As a result, most of the publishing companies nowadays have their own websites, or to put it simply, their own online versions. Online publications have been sprouting out now and then most especially because of the cultural impact of using electronic gadgets and internet. Also, due to the convenience the internet could bring, students of, say Communication or Journalism, are eager to try out online publications for the sake of easier distribution plus big savings from not having to do print. .
This is the situation for Rumination Magazine. A brainchild of undergraduate students of different fields from Ateneo de Manila University, Rumination Magazine labeled itself as an arts & culture magazine targeting most especially the creative youth. Having debuted their first post just last year, Rumination or Rumi Mag has just been starting out.
