Southern California pediatrician Dr. Eric Ball replied to this recent outbreak in his area, saying, " 'It's very frustrating. It's hard to see a kid suffer for something that's entirely preventable (ibid qtd Ball).'" The clinic that Dr. Ball works at treats unvaccinated children, however, ". its staff is meeting next week to discuss a ban (ibid)." So, if health professionals agree that vaccinations are necessary to stop the spread of disease, why do people and organizations still fervently reject them? .
