Increasing progressive activity towards social equality.
Compromise creates opportunities for unity and understanding, but when society does not integrate because of acknowledgeable differences, this key factor of the agreement is unable to help settling the issue. When individuals come to agreement and make a connection is really bring society together. Barnlund expresses, "As we move or are driven toward a global village and increasingly frequent cultural contact, we need more than simply greater factual knowledge of each other" (Barnlund 51). Barnlund explains that society should share not only factual knowledge but also personal experience and perception to help better understand their point of view. Viewing the world from Sanders perspective men have always had to endure a lot more labor than women. Because of the way women were treated they did not have much opportunity to make a decisions for themselves. Some women even accused Sanders of robbing women of their rights and privileges. Sanders states, "And for the first time I met women who told me that men were guilty of having kept all the joys and privileges of the earth for themselves" (Sanders 570). Sanders was accused of taking all the joys and fun out of women's lives because he was a man and men made their own decisions and most of the time the women did not. Sanders knew they were right but he also knew that with these joys and freedoms that men were granted they were also obligated to work hard and labor their whole life. Women did not understand the meaning of being a man because they never had to experience hard labor such as they did. .
Gender differences in a society can start curds. Since the times of Christ and to present day it is illustrated that men seem to have a higher presence over women. This generalization about men or women does influence many to believe this allegation. However, Scott Russell Sanders, author of, "The Men We Carry In Our Minds", illustrates the world from a man's perspective and the consequences of these actions and restrictions towards women.
