Discovering My Birth Family

As I approached my teenage years my mom and I would get into fights constantly. After a heated argument with my mom I stormed into her room and locked myself in there. Rummaging through papers not even knowing what I was looking for. I picked up a box labeled "Family Options", and I dusted it off; I finally had in my hands - the information I have been longing for, my adoption papers. I took a deep breath and opened up the box where I found a picture of my biological mom and dad, and a stack of holiday and birthday cards that were about six inches high. Seeing these cards made me so happy, however I still felt hate towards my parents that these were never shown to me. Even though I still didn't know why I was put up for adoption these cards assured me that my biological parents still cared about me very much. At this point I was more determined than ever to get in contact with my birth parents. I would look through the box from time to time because it would keep me at ease. I loved finding out information out about my life. I was seventeen at this point and I decided to give Family Options a call to hopefully get more information. Unfortunately the lady I spoke with told me I needed to be eighteen in order to get any information about my adoption. That news became so discouraging to me, but there way no way I was giving up now. From time to time I thought about telling my parents what I was doing, but I decided against it. They kept that secret from me, so I am going to play the same way.
As my eighteenth birthday rolled around I had my bags packed and moved in with my Aunt. I felt as though she was the most genuine in the family, plus I had a connection to her because she was adopted as well. I was so eager to call the adoption agency back, as I have been waiting for this day since I was seventeen! I called I spoke to an adoption agent and her name is Sharon. On the phone she had said to me, "I can tell how eager you are calling right on your eighteenth birthday.
