When you come from a family that is extremely religious and lives in the church home, once you become of what they believe is the "appropriate" age, you will be forced to give your life away to Jesus Christ. I use the word "forced" because you should not have to be pressured to give your life away if it is not what you want to do, especially when you are only twelve years old, but that is exactly what happens: you are being impelled to choose. Every individual will experience God differently and at different times so when you are twelve years old, you might not be ready to choose what you believe in. You should never have to feel pressured or feel obligated to choose what you believe in at such a young age. You have your entire life to choose what you believe in; it will come to you in time. Once you become more mature, you will be able to understand this relationship with Jesus and know just because you cannot see him, he is still there whenever you need him. I strongly believe you should build a relationship with him because this can make your life so much easier once you become older and start to gain this knowledge about life and how Jesus really works. You may not understand this now but I can only guide you down the path I feel would be best for you and the obstacles you will start to run into throughout your life. Along the way, while you are trying to gain your faith in Jesus, you may come across those who are labeled "atheists." These individuals do not believe in the existence of Jesus and I feel developing this relationship with Jesus could make life and everything else so much healthier and smarter. In no way am I saying you are obligated to believe but I would just like to encourage you and inform you there is a God and he is always there for you. .
When I say "forced," I do not mean to make it sound atrocious, but just to give you an understanding of how our older peers will become during this situation and not even realize it.
