Electromagnetic Voltage and Weight

How does increasing the amount of volts change the strength of an Electromagnet and much weight can it carry?.
             Response.
In this report, I will be analyzing and observing a set of data from an experiment and show how increasing the amount of volts change the durability of an electromagnet and how much weight it can carry. I will be making a graph to help me check my results to see if there is a connection. My prediction is that if you increase the amount of volts, the more weight the electromagnet can carry. The reason why I think that is because unlike a permanent magnet, the strength of an electromagnet can be changed by changing the amount of electric current that flows through it. I also think that the more you wrap the nail with the coil the electromagnet would get stronger.
I will change the number of volts from ranges of 1.5V, 3.0V, 4.5V, 6V, and I will measure the amount of iron filings that are attracted to the electromagnet. To make the test fair I would do the test more than once, keep the same amount of turns on the coil for each experiments and I would keep the same size of the U shaped metal.
For this experiment you will need:.
             - U shaped metal.
             - 1-2 Coil of insulated wire.
             - Battery.
             - Iron Filings.
             - 2 Crocodile Clips.
             - 2 pieces of A4 paper.
             - 2 Jumper wires.
             My method is:.
             1. Get your equipment.
             2. Attach the 2 crocodile clips to one end of the 2 jumper wires.
             3. Use the other end and plug it into the battery.
             4. Wrap the coil of insulated wire to the U shaped metal (about 10 or more times).
             5. Use the crocodile clips to clip on the ends of the coil of insulated wire.
             6. Pour some iron filing onto a piece of A4 - A5 paper.
             7. Now use the U shaped metal to attract and pick up the iron filings as much as possible.
             8. Take another piece of paper and weigh it (record how heavy it is).
             9. Hover the U shaped metal over the paper and unplug the wire from the battery.
             10. The iron filings from the electromagnet should drop down onto the piece of paper.
