Lately there have been many stories spread by the media on incidence that involved school going children having access to a hand guns and taking them to their schools. In most situations innocent children get hurt in the process since the young children are not aware of how to handle a gun effectively. On 27th February 2012, T.J Lane who was a seventeen year old school boy walked with a .22 caliber pistol in his bag to his school, Chardon High School situated outside Cleveland. He walked to the cafeteria where other students were having their breakfast where he pulled out the gun and raised before firing a shot without saying a word. The students present panicked and started screaming while running out of the cafeteria. A few kids were shot while others were injured by the bullets while trying to flee for their lives (LePore). Other similar cases have also taken place in schools, where young students got access to guns and ended up injuring and killing some of their fellow schoolmates. The effect of such a situation is beyond physical effects as most school going children are psychologically affected from these situation and take a lot of time to get over the situation.
