"Adolf "Adi" Dassler was the founder of the German sportswear company Adidas. Trained as a cobbler, Adi Dassler started to produce his own sports shoes in his mother's laundry after his return from World War I."3 Ever since Mr. Dassler started the company it has been still held together since the early 1900's and being that the company has been around for over a century they withstood the test of time, going through many hardships such as The Great Depression, The Holocaust, World War 2 and many other obstacles. As the company went through all these rough times they never seemed to fail but to only grow stronger and better as it is still strongly known still today.
In society there's never just one of something there's so many others with different versions trying to appeal to the people to buy over other products that can work the same. This is called strategies to compete against their competitors like all companies Adidas also have competitors and strategies of how to compete against them. "The main competitor of Adidas in the market is the Nike which has a market share of almost 33%. In addition to Nike, there are also some other competitors in the market, which are smaller in size than Nike Asics, New Balance and Puma operating in United States and European Countries."4 Even though Adidas has many competitors their main one is Nike who they really have to think and use stronger strategies to compete against. "The strategies of both these sports giants are very similar but Adidas focuses more the broad differentiation strategy and also focusing on innovation, trying to produce new products, services and processes in order to cope up with the competition."5Adidas also keeps up with it's competitors with the obvious that most companies do such as selling the latest fashion brads, understanding their customers better, banking on it's suddenly popular vintage models and strategically setting prices just below its main competitor's top lines.
