Lord and to educate the public. There are many places where one might see the fundraising efforts such as in malls, online, on television, in radio and print advertisements. This wide range of advertising is what really helps bring people to open their eyes and hearts to children all over the world that are in need. As part of being stewards of God's creations, educating the public and speaking on behalf of the poor is one of many tasks to be done. "Speaking up for those who cannot speak up for themselves, for the rights of all who are destitute, speak up and judge fairly; defend the rights of the poor and needy." (Proverbs 31:8-9) This quote serves as a direct representation of what World Vision does to spread the word and how their advertisement and fundraising is giving a voice to those who do not have one. In 1947, a doctor by the name of Bob Pierce was a missionary traveling through China. On his trip through China, he saw many of the abandoned and battered children that roamed the streets of the very poor areas. This was a huge turning point for him and he began to build an organization that was dedicated to helping the world's most suffering children. Without the brave and noble work of Dr. Bob Pierce none of this much needed help around the world would have been possible. Thanks to Dr. Pierce's small act of kindness, World Vision has become the very successful worldwide and well known organization that it is today. "Give generously to Him and do so without a grudging heart; then because of this the Lord, your God will bless you in all your work and in everything you put your head into" (Deuteronomy 15:10).
The World Vision Organization works very hard to provide the basic necessities of life that many cannot obtain or afford. When sponsoring a child, the cycle of poverty is broken by providing this child and their community with life saving necessities.
