The result of the law was not a decrease in "death by guns" statistics. If that type of legislation were effective, New York, Los Angeles, and Washington, D.C. should be the safest cities in our nation. Why, do they have gun control laws? Are more gun control laws really the right answer?.
It all starts with one bill, an action against gun owners, prohibiting them from the right to own a firearm, and it ends up as an Un-United States of America, divided on the issue of guns, where law-abiding citizens have no weapons and no protection: and gangs ruling the streets.
The peoples voice (the press), did absolutely nothing but encourage the president: making it sound as if he had banned all semi-automatic weapons. This reminds me of a little something called the Third Reich, and their extermination of Jews. First all Hitler did was force them to identify themselves, to wear a blue armband with a white Star of David. All Clinton did in 1994 was to ban the sale of a few semi-automatic weapons. But he started taking power from the people, and giving more to the government; and when the government has all the power (do you know what that is called? FASCISM). Then Hitler started closing down their businesses (their right to earn a living), and taking away their privileges. Before anyone grew wiser, the Jews were being carted off by the trainloads to death camps. I am not saying that the government is going to kill all gun-owners; but it may kill the spirit in them, or worse yet, ignite a burning fire of anger and resistance. .
Imagine a world where the fun of going out on Saturday morning and hunting pheasants, and the smell of burned black powder as you watch the brass casing eject out of the chamber, not to mention the thrill of the hunt is all just a memory. It is sad to say that in future generations, that hunting stories will be just that-stories, not real life experiences to be shared from grandfather to son, from father to daughter, or from brother to brother.
