Working together toward a common goal has many benefits. Teamwork is crucial because it can increase the efficiency of the work and at the same time achieve different opinions. The movie October Sky, directed by Joe Johnston, tells a story about a high school boy, Homer Hickam, who has a dream of making rockets and realizes his dream by cooperating with his friends. Homer chooses to make the rocket with the "Rocket Boys" instead of working by himself, in order to achieve success. This also reminds me of the memories of working with others when I was young. From the movie and my own experience, Homer and I both gain benefits from teamwork. From cooperating with each other, tasks will become easier and relationships with each other will be well developed.
Making relatively hard problems more accessible can be an imperative when doing work together. Homer is born in a poor town so that he has less chance to insist on his interest. When he is trying to make the rocket, he also deals with the problems in school, with friends, and in his dysfunctional family. The tough situation lets the dream become much harder to realize. Luckily, Homer meets many friends who bring him potential. They work together to make rockets, and finally they succeed in both experiments. Teamwork allows them to get their work done faster and lets a relatively impossible task become easier. The most impressive scene in the movie is the announcement at the National Science Fair. When the host says to the boys, "the first prize goes to the boys." In other words, they get the biggest merit in the town and Homer also gains acknowledgment from his stubborn father. Making a rocket sounds like an impossible task because it requires a very vast amount of knowledge and a lot of practice. Teamwork lets it become possible, and Homer realizes his dream successfully by working with his friends.
One person's brain cannot bring more ideas than the teamwork.
