The Heroic Cesar Chavez

Inspired by the work of Mahatma Gandhi and Martin Luther King Jr., Chavez pursued the work of a humanitarian, organizing peaceful protests, boycotts, strikes, marches, and rallies to let the public know of the farmers' suffering and mistreatment. Cesar Chavez used these methods to fight for the rights of the farm workers. Along with Dolores Huerta, Chavez founded the National Farm Workers Association a labor union for farm workers. Cesar Chavez dedicated his life to improving working conditions, wages, and treatment of poor underpaid farmers. Like a true hero, Cesar Chavez possessed the courage to stand up for what's right and act accordingly, fighting for those trapped in the depths of poverty. In spite of the social and economic barriers that stood in his way, Chavez reached for his dreams, never giving in to the oppression displayed by those who opposed his work. As a heroic social rights activist, Cesar Chavez utilized his strong sense of justice and undaunted courage to alleviate the poverty and hardship of the underprivileged, transforming society for the greater good of all humanity. .
Cesar Chavez's strong ideals of justice guided him in his fight for the suffering farm workers. At the time, migrant farm workers had to put up with cheating farm contractors, scanty wages for strenuous work, and constant racism from farm owners. They were treated and worked like slaves. It pained Chavez to see so many people amidst such great hardship. Wanting change: "Chavez strove for better wages and working conditions, but more than that, he strove to spread a message of dignity, respect, and justice for farm workers" ("Fighting for Farm Worker's Rights: Cesar Chavez, The Delano Grape Strike and Boycott"). Seeing the mistreatment and abuse of underrepresented farm workers, Cesar devoted his life for change in the corrupt and unjust society of poor farm workers. Chavez's strong moral conscience fueled his ambitions.
