In the study of Greek mythology, Zeus is one of the central personalities in the line of the gods. Zeus is a god of many titles in the Greek mythological history. According to the different texts, Zeus was able to make changes and convert different perspectives of life in accordance with the demands of the people. For example, he is considered a god of change since he transformed the livelihood of men that depended on living from the caves. He is also recognized as the king of the gods due to his outstanding qualities. Zeus is a great god and brings things to order according to the Greek mythology. Zeus achieved greatness compared to the god's in charge before him.

From the historical perspective of Zeus, he is considered a great god after he overthrew the authority of his father Kronos through collaborating with his mother Rhea. When Zeus fought Kronos he saved Demeter, Hades, Hestia, Hera and Poseidon his sibling whom his father swallowed. After the overthrowing exercise, the other gods have given him a title as the god of all gods and humans. This argument is a direct way of expressing the greatness of Zeus in the Greek mythology. The fact that the other gods accept him as the leader means that he had the power and the authority to control both the ways of the humans and the gods. He was respected amongst all the god's for his bravery and courageousness. They respected his decision making and logic.
Hesiod is one of the major authors of poetry in the Greek mythology. In one of the poems, Hesiod gives great description towards Zeus. The descriptions concerning Zeus gives him a declaratory greatness based on what he is in the society. Hesiod says, "Zeus, the father of gods and men, mightiest of the gods and the strongest by far." Such descriptions suit the argument that Zeus was one of the powerful gods in the Greek history.
