Being honest with other people and oneself is an important thing to add to ones personal code of ethics and values. Knowing what is real versus what is not, and being able to decipher the truth from fiction is an important asset to have in life. This can be applied in real life situations such as: finding out that one's true friends are right in front of them, realizing who is one's soul mate, and knowing what really makes someone happy. Being honest with oneself in all aspects of life is the key to happiness. This is because if someone can always be clear and aware of a situation, not mislead or naive, they will have the knowledge to properly approach the problem, instead of causing more stress and anxiety. .
Loyalty.
Listening to a friend when they're down, having someone's back who you've remained close to for a long amount of time, or sticking up for something you feel is wrong are all great examples of being loyal. I always try to be loyal and the best version of myself to those people who have been there for me, which, in my opinion, are the grounds for a long lasting, fulfilling friendship. This is due to the fact that if one is always loyal to a friend, partner, family member, or even an employer, the same treatment is usually delivered on the receiving end, leaving both people happy and satisfied. .
Balancing.
Having a healthy mindset and taking care of oneself in all aspects is extremely important in staying driven and motivated during my time spent in Toronto. These specific "aspects" can include one's emotions, physical needs, time management skills, dealing with stress, etc. Although it is almost nearly impossible to have all aspects of one's life in order, trying to keep the idea of a having a balance at all times is essential, especially for a student living in Toronto. Personally, maintaining a healthy balance between leisure, schoolwork, and my job had been a struggle at first, but I now see that life generally goes smoother with a routine, set goals, and a plan.
