Movie Analysis - 500 Days of Summer

500 Days of Summer, a romantic comedy, and a film directed by Marc Webb is a greatly evoked story about how life truly is not what society would like for it to be; and that life is more or less controlled by fate. The captured essence of human life, music, and the location all contribute to how great the movie really is. It also grabs the viewers in a relatable aspect, keeping them guessing till the very end.
Tom is an intelligent, inattentive, and creative man, but his introduction into sad British pop music and a complete misreading of the movie The Graduate may have negatively influenced his outlook on life. This and the disintegration of his parents' marriage coincide with why his personality lacks. Much of the same could be said for Summer. She is the kind of girl who goes with the flow, beautiful, smart, and elegant. In this movie, fate brings Tom and Summer together to help them discover the things that they truly want out of life. A series of challenges the two go through, help to bring out the people that they are meant to be.
In this movie, Fate brings Tom and Summer together, to help them discover that they do not control their lives, and that everything is not purely coincidence. Tom, a perfectly adequate greeting card writer aspires to be an architect, but thinks his work is not sufficient enough; as if it was not enough as is, Tom also believes that he lives in a world where good things do not happen to him, and that fate does not exist. Summer is more or less of the same, except she: goes about her life, taking the days as it goes, becoming as free as the wind blows. As they both go through a series of challenges: Tom realizes his passion for architecture, and pursues it; while discovering fates sense of humor, using the "coincidence factor" soon after his and summer's fall out, he meets Autumn. Summer's disbelief in love ends not too much longer after her relationship with Tom.
