People illustrate Islam to be a very violent religion that focuses on nothing but war, and hurting innocent people, but in reality, it is actually peaceful, and caring. Being a Muslim has given me the opportunity to point out the misconceptions people have about the religion and to prove that they are not what some have exposed it to be. In modern society, the religion Islam and its followers are portrayed as evil and wrong-doers based on a minority of terrorist groups who decide not to follow the actual meaning of the religion; instead they misconstrue the beliefs of the religion depicting the teaching of Islam claiming that "Those who fight oppression, those who fight occupation, cannot be termed as terrorist, they are freedom fighters" (Jewish Chronicle, 93).
"Britain is a breeding ground for many Islamic Terrorist groups which is 'weakening' Britain's 'security' while hollowing out its values on the grounds that minority rights must take precedence, inadvertently providing a legal battering ram for the Islamic Jihad" (Phillips 35). In response to all of which, "the British security establishment has its eyes firmly shut as they 'sleepwalk' into collision with the enemy it should be fighting" (back of book by Melanie Philips). Therefore as British sleepwalks towards cultural oblivion with the Islamic Jihad leading the way the distraction of once implacable British threaten its special relation with America and very future of the West. .
Terrorism in the world is very profound in that they are terrorists who are actually trying to harm us, "to mark the anniversary of 9/11 in 2004 by saying that people should not take the action necessary to prevent themselves and others from being murdered" (Williams, 144).
