Censoring the Internet

Censorship of the internet is not a new thing, it has been a problem over for many years. The government procure a way to attack or bully vulnerable individuals by imposing Acts that will prevent these individuals from posting inappropriate materials perhaps. Because without its imposition anyone can bring dirt to the country. The voice of the people stand against this matter. "Restrict access to certain Internet content that is likely to cause offense to a reasonable adult, and to protect children from exposure to Internet content that is unsuitable for children"(Penfold).
Our freedom of speech is a very important part of us and need to be protected. One of the reason why people use internet is implicated that: "The role of the Internet in political involvement are analyzed in more detail by Rice and Katz (2004), and the implications of Internet use for political engagement as well as becoming exposed to politically dissimilar others are reviewed and analyzed by Brundidge and Rice"(2008). It is to show that it's a forum for free expression. As we are given the rights to speak our minds, according to the First Amendment then we should use our freedom speech to the fullest. Many of us have different ways of expressing themselves. Some through blogs, pictures, musics and videos etc. Yet, we feel limited with the government implications. There are now very many internet censorships going around; such as PIPA ( Protect Internet Privacy Act), PROTECT-IP ( Preventing Real Online Threats to Economic Creativity and Theft of Intellectual Property Act), and SOPA(Stop Online Piracy Act). The reason of creating of these sites are to censor the internet. For instance, when users post material that does not belong to them or any misleading content, these acts will send a message to the private corporation and automatically shut them down and sue search engines and blogs that have links to any typical sites.
