Women choose to prostitute, sell their bodies, and receive an earning from their hard work. Trafficking consists of children, women, and men forced to complete tasks due to fear of being physically abused by their abductor. "Victims are often forced through physical violence to engage in sex acts or perform slavery-like labor. Such force includes rape and other forms of sexual abuse, torture, starvation, imprisonment, threats, psychological abuse and coercion" (Trafficking, 1). The physical abuse these victims receive is an act that shows how "millions of people around the world are living in bondage" (Remarks, 1). Most cases are misconstrued that this is a life choice; if it were a life choice, there would no need for coercion. Choice implies decisions; these trafficked children, women, and men do not make any decisions without the proper approval of their traffickers. .
The reason why trafficking exists is because of the high demand for cheap employment and sexual activity among children and young women. Most traffickers prey their victims on the simple fact that most of these children, women, and men come from poverty stricken societies, desperate to have a better life, or come from abusive homes. Within this criminal act there is a low risk. Many are unaware of this frightening and concerning issue, where law enforcement are not trained to handle these reports, and no justice is being done to those who are trafficked. Another reason why human trafficking prospers are high profits: "When individuals are willing to buy commercial sex, they create a market and make it to profitable for traffickers to sexually exploit children and adults.
