Growing up in a family of hard-working Nigerian immigrants, life has been pretty difficult, but still worthwhile. My parents work hard because they know that life is tough. My father always told me that the needs of your family should be perpetually quenched before the essentials of another. Therefore, why should the United States intervene in a conflict in another region?.
The intervention of the United States should be of best interest of its citizens not the best interest of the needy outside nation. Yes, it is a magnificent thing to help a living soul for the Book of Luke 6:38 says, Give and ye shall receive." It is not so magnificent if you receive nothing in return. The only reason why the United States intervenes is to prevent terrorism and to create allies. First of all, you can't buy friends so saying it creates allies is a downright lie. How many of these "so called" allies have chosen to help the United States government in its economic crisis? Yet we, the United States, rush to give foreign aid, but do not receive anything in return. Love should be unselfish (Source 1). It is a give and take relationship. Secondly, a country that has a national debt as large as ours shouldn't be giving aid to anyone to start with. .
Intervening in conflicts in other regions does the complete opposite of preventing terrorism and creating allies – it creates wars. The wars in which the U.S. has seen the need to interfere with – the Iraqi War, the Afghanistan War, and the ongoing Pakistan War – have done absolutely no good within the American society. All these conflict interferences has not only depleted our own resources - financial and military, but it has also created enemies abroad. Enemies to the extent that one can't even board a plane without crossed fingers for safety Just think if we had not gone to all these wars we wouldn't be worried about increased taxes, increased unemployment, increased gas prices, increased terrorism, etc.
