The Concept of God by Medieval Thinkers

Perhaps it would be appropriate to ask oneself on how much do we know God. What is God for us? Who is God for us? What is the role of God to us? By answering these questions we may be able to distinguish God whether He is an ingredient or a condiment.
Ingredient mean that which make what a thing is. Being an ingredient means to be necessarily present in the thing. Body and soul is an example of ingredients of the human person; a flour for bread; and a lens for camera. On the other hand condiment means like a seasoning or something that is used to enhance a thing. Paint is an example of condiment for a car; a chocolate in a cake; and a perfume worn by a lady.
If God is an ingredient, how do we understand his being in the context of creation? Does man's existence depend on God? Is there a need for God's existence in order for man to continue to exist? Is God only needed for existence?.
If God is a condiment, man need not to depend on God. God would seem to be an accessory, a color or a flavor to man's life that is only remembered when wanted. A contingent being cannot depend on another being that it has a lack. .
This paper may seem to incline to the hypothesis that God is an ingredient. May this paper be able to establish of what God really is. The objective of this paper is to be able to provide a definitive explanation of God as an ingredient or a condiment in as can be gleaned from selected medieval thinkers.
             The Medieval Thought.
The middle ages faced four issues: the relationship between faith and reason, proof of God's existence, the problem of religious language and the problem of the universals. This paper will be dealing only with the first three problems. .
             1) What is the relationship of faith to our human understanding? .
             2) How should we communicate God as a reality? .
             3) How do the medieval philosophers prove the existence of God? Is it necessary to prove God's existence?.
Many would think that the pre-Socratic thinkers just showed what philosophy is.
