Brave New World is a society that is created by the government in hatcheries, since women can't give birth anymore. Bernard Marx, John and Hemholtz are the main characters in this book. They are the only unhappy people in this society; they are not soma zombies, the drug that makes you happy because these people don't know any other feeling besides happiness but are they really happy? This novel questions if it is better to be happy or free.
This society is soma zombies, who are controlled by the government. There is no originality the government tells everyone how to think and what they are going to be in their future. Originality is the ability to think independently and creatively. In this novel there is a false sense of happiness, people don't really know what happiness is if they have not experienced any of the bad. Soma is used so people do not question anything because when you are happy you do not question anything. Science and Technology is a huge part in the controlling of the state the science is used to make the technology and its purpose and the technology is used for purposes like mind control and conditioning. The government should be protecting its people not control them and not making them into senseless robots.
Individuality- the quality or character of a particular person or thing that distinguishes them from others of the same kind, especially when strongly marked. The distinction of everyone is in evident; nothing makes each one different from each other. Hypnopeadia, which is when someone tells you repeatedly how to think while you are sleeping and conditioning are the cause of lack of individuality because you are conditioned to think a certain way everyone thinks the same.
