Gun Control, the NRA and the Second Amendment

His purposes hear is to announce his opinion for everyone to see, and hopefully change someone's mind who doesn't agree. I felt a connection when I read this article just by some of the things he had to say such as, "Just because an individual chooses not to own a gun, it does not give that individual the right to take away my own personal freedom of gun ownership. I understand that many people abuse the right of gun ownership and they should be punished. Many people abuse the right to consume alcohol, with equally deadly results, and these people should be punished. The remaining millions of responsible Americans should not have their rights infringed on, simply because someone did not show proper discipline when exercising the same right. They only thing I ask is that before you fight to take away any freedom that you carefully look at both sides of the issue, and ask yourself, if the shoe was on the other foot would you still believe in your cause." He really hit the nail on the head when he said this. I couldn't agree more with what he had to say here, if there's anything I want someone to take from this paper, it is those couple of sentences.
The second source I used that was helpful to me was "Libertarian Logic." This cite was helpful to me because it helped be best understand the second amendment a little better. The second amendment is stated as the right to bear arms. When I first analyzed this web page I looked it up and down before I started reading it closely and it looked packed full of information. The purpose of this web page is to inform the audience with general knowledge on the second amendment and the overall view of "Guns rights." The writer's message to the reader is simply that in guns rights, "everyone has a right to be free, and that includes the right to keep and bear arms for self-defense, defense of family, community, state and country.
