The psychological need for affiliation is my need for companionship, friendships, and intimacy as well as the push to meet other people. My motivation to make friends and to have intimacy with someone is greatly sought out by my pleasure seeking motives, appetitive motivation. I am always open to new relationships however I do not seek people out by the numbers but more for the quality of an individual and the quality of our companionship. When I hear other individuals discussing a topic which I feel passionate about, I am one too promptly jump into the conversation and bond over the topic, like skiing for example. I bond with my friends by keeping up to date on what's happening in our lives by talking on the phone or texting, going on adventures together like skiing or a road trip, and I also strive to keep negative energy and thoughts away from the relationship to keep the good energy flowing through the relationship. I feel driven to find a partner romantically so I could be intimately involved with someone who is my best friend and we could discover every ins and outs of our lives and the world we live in. My aversive motivation for affiliation is shown rarely in my life; I like to be alone at times and to avoid the ability to be alone with myself is not a motivation I strongly have. I avoid being alone and not being affiliated with people when I am at a socializing event and I do not know many or any people; this occurrence would give me the opportunity to meet people out of avoiding being alone. .
The need to be free of coercion, to be independent, and to avoid times in which my freedom is limited is the psychological need for autonomy. My need for autonomy is motivated mainly by my appetitive motivation. Because I am 17 and not yet an adult, my freedom lies in the hands of my parents. I seek freedom by showing and maintain stability in my life and by showing maturity by how I act and take on responsibilities.
