Parable of the Prodigal Son

"(Luke 15:7) He then tells another story about a woman who loses one out of her ten coins in her house and then searches the entire house until she finds it, and then when she does she goes and celebrates with her friends and neighbors. Jesus then said, "There is rejoicing in the presence of the angels of God over one sinner who repents."(Luke 15:10) We now have our story laid out for us as Jesus has been talking to a group of sinners about repenting for one's own sins and how repenting for one's sins is more important that not having anything to repent for at all. .
Taking off from there, the story is about two sons and their father who owns a lot of land. The youngest brother asked his father if he could have some of his land, so the father divides his land between him and his older brother. The younger brother sold all his land for money, left the country, and then blew all his money in wild living. When he realized what he had done he planned to go back to his father, apologize, say he didn't deserve to be his son, and ask to be a servant because he feared he would starve if he didn't. However, when he goes back, his father does not even give him the chance to say what he had planned because his father is so overwhelmed with joy. He clothed his son and treated him to the best their house had to offer and he had his servants prepare a feast and a celebration. When the older brother, who remained loyal to his father, living with him and helping tend the fields, got wind of this he became very angry and refused to celebrate because he felt like he deserved what his brother did for being loyal and not being like his brother. His dad then talked to him saying how whatever is mine is yours and that they are always together. Because his brother was lost but is now found, we celebrate because that's a new life, which is a reason to celebrate. So there we have it, one sees that the third story is also related to the last two stories but it is different in that the first and second stories used common objects and in the last one uses people which makes it a lot easier to relate to personally.
