The Truth About Global Warming

One interesting fact is that back in 2006, Vladimir Shaidurov, from the Russian Academy of Sciences, suggested that "the Tunguska Event" in 1908, might have had a major impact on the earth's atmosphere in the century following. This event happened in Siberia and involved the explosion of a comet in the atmosphere supposedly releasing energy equivalent to about fifteen one-megaton atomic weapons, scattering vast amounts of dust into the atmosphere and felling tens of millions of trees. Shaidurov affirmed that this particular event coincided with changes in earth's temperature.
In response to these affirmations, Al Gore begins his documentary "An Inconvenient Truth" with the sarcastic comment "the earth is so big, we can't possibly have any lasting, harmful impact on the earth's environment." He explains how the greenhouse effect is basically killing the atmosphere because its increase of CO2 on earth. The greenhouse effect is no other but to regulate our climate by trapping heat and holding it in a kind of warm-air blanket that surrounds the planet. In fact, without it, scientists estimate that the average temperature on Earth would be colder by approximately 30 degrees Celsius (54 degrees Fahrenheit), far too cold to sustain our current ecosystem. Now, part of this scientific community believes that the global climate is warming because of greenhouse gas emissions from human activities, including fossil fuel combustion (gas), industrial and manufacturing processes, and changes in land use, such as destruction of the rain forest. This impact has developed the increment of the temperature of the oceans producing tornados and hurricanes. Obviously, these effects become dangerous when oceans begin to increase the sea level and get to the land transforming them in catastrophic results. .
The United Nations put together in 1997, The Kyoto Protocol. This document compromised more than 140 nations to reduce and eliminate the greenhouse emissions.
