It was easy to see that the dynasty was corrupt- and everyone was fully aware of it, the European oppression that Chinese citizens endured prompted the Boxer rebellion Sparking means for change, professional revolutionary Sun Yat-Sen emerged with strength and focus to rid China of the Manchu's corruptive nature. Sun Yat-Sen espoused his "Three Principals "- Nationalism, Democracy, and Socialism. This beliefs would be the framework of the League of Common Alliance responsible for The Chinese Revolution of 1911 which successfully overthrew the Manchu dynasty. In this happening Sun Yat-Sen came to power in 1922 and adapted the beliefs of the KMT to be more acceptable to the Chinese Communist party. Allotting Sun to strengthen a system of disciplined local Nationalists cells throughout China, instilling complete military reform. A military academy was formed to train young Nationalist officers- lead by Chiang Kai-shek, but his purpose was only to ensure the Nationalists could properly defend itself when and if it was attacked.
